Entering Ristorante Osteria in Scandiano is like stepping into a romantic story.
We are a family business, which started life in a restaurant in the town centre. In 2017, we expanded and moved into a new home — or rather, a villa with its own park: it’s called Villa Palazzina and it’s a sympathetically modernised 15th-century residence. The interior boasts period frescoes, in a clean and sophisticated style that is in total keeping with the warm, family atmosphere that sets us apart.
The traditional menus are inspired by our local region and offer the best of its produce — from the typical cured meats with freshly prepared gnocco fritto (fried dumplings), to fresh pasta and creative main courses. Not forgetting the signature dish: cappelletti in capon broth.
Our more creative dishes are brimming with gourmet touches: we have green ravioli stuffed with mortadella and flavoured with black summer truffle; guinea fowl 4.0 with Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Reggio Emilia, raspberries and Borettana onions; or our original Cioccoterapia (‘Chocotherapy’). All in combination with sparkling or still wines from our cellar, where we stock over 400 labels from Italy and around the world.
Taking care of the kitchen, restaurant and cellar is all about taking care of people – guests, colleagues, family members and staff. That is why our craft is built on respect and expertise, without exception.
We are also part of the oldest culinary association of Italian restaurants: theUnione Ristoranti del Buon Ricordo.
